Publicly available high-quality experimental results of calm water resistance measurements are hard to find for catamarans. This makes the validation case presented in this study especially valuable. The catamaran has been designed by Stuart Friezer from Stuart Friezer Consulting, giving us the opportunity to quantify the accuarcy of our approach in predicting resistance of semi-displacement catamarans.

The study is conducted for ten different speeds, spanning the resistance hump and a hull-interference hollow. Results show close agreement in terms of resistance across the whole range of speeds, as seen below.
